Job prospects for plumbers are good. Plumbing
jobs are among the highest paid jobs in the
construction industry today. The more training
and experience a plumber has, the more he can
expect to be paid. Skilled plumbers, pipe
layers, pipe fitters and the like are in high
demand and are likely to continue to be in high
demand for several more years. Thus, a qualified
plumber with adequate skill and plumbing
experience has with adequate skill a qualified
plumber stands a good chance of doing quite well
for himself and won't in short demand.
However, jobs at construction projects are by
their nature temporary, and a plumber may find
himself unemployed as soon as a construction
project is completed. So think carefully before
choosing such a job. A good option is to work
for a plumbing or mechanical engineering service
contractor. A skilled plumber may also consider
self-employment.
